About Denis Grégoire
Denis Grégoire was born in Huy in Belgium in 1965. He started his bookbinding and gold tooling studies at La Cambre in Brussels in 1984. In 1989 he sets up his own bookbinding studio in the village of Moha. He became a teacher at the École des Arts et Métiers in Liège and also runs a workshop at the Bibliothèque Universitaire Morétus Plantin in Namur. His professional experience as a studio director and teacher has enabled him to explore all aspects of the profession, from the finest book craft through to industrial binding techniques. Meeting people who approach the profession from different angles has been very important, prompting him to analyse every single operation in order to focus exclusively on what is essential: the aim and the outcome of every process, every action.
